# Dr. Love's NMN — VSL v2 (story-led reshoot)

**Status:** draft v1, 2026-09-28. Written for Robert to film himself. Cody chose "Robert films the new story" over an AI avatar.
**Length:** about 1,050 spoken words, or 6:30–7:15 at Robert's pace. The current video is 3:51.
**Keeps:** Robert's best current lines (NAD in 30 seconds, 1,000 mg, TMG + methylated B's, Dr. Josh Helman, Hong Kong prices, third-party tested, the 6-month guarantee).
**Adds:** a story opening (grandparents → parents → Hong Kong shelf), a "3 things to look for" teaching block, a clear package walk-through, and a two-paths close with two calls to action.
**Removes (compliance):** "reverses aging", "repairs DNA" as a promise, "best on the planet", "very hard to find in the US" (no longer true after the September 2025 FDA letter), and any Alzheimer's prevention claim. "Harvard" is used only for Dr. Helman's training, never as endorsement.

Lines tagged **[CONFIRM]** are drawn from Robert's public bios or interviews. He should confirm them, or change them to his own words, before filming. Nothing in brackets is read aloud.

## Filming guide (one sitting, about 45 minutes)

- **Camera:** iPhone rear camera, 4K 30fps, locked on a tripod. Lens at eye level, about arm's length. Shoot **vertical 9:16**, which is the mobile page's main video. If a second phone is available, also shoot a 16:9 wide from the side for desktop and for YouTube cut-downs.
- **Audio:** a clip-on lav mic (Rode Wireless Go / DJI Mic) in a quiet room with no air conditioning noise. Audio matters more than picture.
- **Light:** face a window, or use one soft key light at 45°. Avoid overhead light only.
- **Set:** use the same bookshelf as the current video for brand continuity, with an NMN bottle in frame on the shelf.
- **Wardrobe:** the navy blazer for the pitch sections (5–8). A sweater or casual shirt for the story sections (1–3) is optional. The outfit change also covers the edit points.
- **Delivery:** read each section 2–3 times. Short takes are fine and we cut between them. Hold the bottle only in sections 5, 7 and 8.
- **Also film (B-roll, 10 minutes):** pouring 2 capsules into a palm; taking them with water in the morning; the label turned slowly to camera; walking into the kitchen in the morning; a close-up of hands holding an old family photo (only if Robert is comfortable). Any photos from the Hong Kong trip, especially a pharmacy shelf, are the best B-roll we could have.

## Edit plan (we do this part)

Captions on every line (brand green/gold, 2 lines max). A soft piano and strings bed under the story, lifting at the reveal. The label close-up with call-outs on 1,000 mg / TMG / B vitamins. Simple NAD+ graphic at section 4. Price comparison card at section 6. Package cards at section 8, matching the buy box on the page. Master 2160×3840 (4K vertical) with a 1080×1920 web export, loudness -14 LUFS, and burned-in captions plus a separate .vtt file.

## 1. Cold open — the shelf (0:00–0:40)

> [Close-up, quiet. No bottle in hand.]

A few months ago I was standing in a pharmacy in Hong Kong, holding a little box of NMN.

The price tag said eighteen hundred and eighty Hong Kong dollars. That's about two hundred and forty U.S. dollars. For one month.

And when I turned the box over and read the label, I laughed out loud. Because it was only five hundred milligrams. Half the dose I take every single morning.

So you'd need two boxes. Almost five hundred dollars a month.

And I thought: people are paying *that* just to have more energy as they get older? There has to be a better way to do this.

> [Beat. Direct to camera.]

I'm Dr. Robert Love. I'm a neuroscientist. And that moment in Hong Kong is a big part of why I made the NMN I'm going to show you today.

## 2. Why this is personal (0:40–1:40)

Let me tell you why I care so much about this.

> [Close-up on his hand.]

This ring was my grandfather's. My mother's father. My mom gave it to me, and I think about him when I do my work. [CONFIRM: same ring on camera]

Both of my grandfathers had dementia. When I was in first grade, I asked my dad about it, and he said, "It's all genetic. There's nothing we can do." And for a long time, I believed him.

I don't anymore. I built my whole career around one question: what can we actually *do* to keep our brains and bodies strong as we get older?

Then, about five years ago, I went home to Cincinnati to visit my parents. And I saw it. They were slower. More tired. [CONFIRM: energy framing; his public telling is about memory] Everything took more out of them than it used to.

Maybe you've said that too. You wake up already tired. By three o'clock you're dragging. You tell yourself it's just age.

And here's the thing. Part of it *is* age. But not in the way most people think.

## 3. The 30-second molecule (1:40–2:50)

There's a molecule in your body called NAD. N-A-D.

NAD is like ATP. It's used in pretty much every cell in your body to turn the food you eat into energy your cells can use. It's that important. If you had no NAD for about thirty seconds, you'd be dead.

Now here's what most people don't know. NAD levels naturally go down as we get older. By the time you're in your fifties, you have a lot less of it than you did in your twenties.

So when you notice your energy is lower than it used to be, one of the things happening, deep inside your cells, is less NAD.

So the obvious question is: can we give the body what it needs to make more?

And that's where NMN comes in. NMN stands for nicotinamide mononucleotide. It's the raw material your body uses to make NAD. In human studies, taking NMN every day raised NAD levels in the blood. And it's why I take NMN first thing every single morning.

## 4. What changed (2:50–3:30)

For a while, NMN was hard to find in the United States. You'd see it in Hong Kong, in Asia, in Canada, and people here couldn't get it.

That changed. In September 2025, the FDA confirmed that NMN can be sold as a dietary supplement in the United States.

And that's great news. But it also means the shelves are about to fill up with a lot of NMN. And most of it, like that box I held in Hong Kong, isn't what you want.

## 5. Three things to look for (3:30–4:50)

So here's what I tell my family to look for. Write these down.

**Number one: the dose.** You want a thousand milligrams of NMN. A thousand. A lot of products give you two-fifty or five hundred, and you end up taking two or three times as many capsules. That's why they seem cheap.

**Number two: methylation support.** When your body processes a lot of NMN, it uses up something called methyl groups. So you want TMG and methylated B vitamins with it. I have not seen another NMN that puts TMG and a full methylated B-complex in the same bottle.

**Number three: proof of what's inside.** You want it third-party tested and made in a GMP-certified facility. That means an independent lab checks that what's on the label is actually in the capsule. That costs extra. Most companies skip it.

> [Pick up the bottle.]

So I made one.

I designed this with Dr. Josh Helman, a medical doctor trained at Harvard. A thousand milligrams of NMN in every serving. TMG. A full methylated B-complex, including methyl B12 and methylfolate, and B vitamins also help your body make neurotransmitters. So there's a benefit for your brain too. Third-party tested. Made in the USA in a GMP-certified facility.

## 6. The price (4:50–5:30)

Now let's talk about price, because this is where it gets good.

In Hong Kong, that half-strength box was two hundred and forty to three hundred dollars. Here in the U.S., a good thousand-milligram NMN usually runs about a hundred dollars a month or more. That's the minimum.

I didn't want that for you. So when you get more than one bottle today, the price comes way down. And my six-bottle package is the best value per bottle.

## 7. My promise (5:30–6:00)

And you don't have to take my word for any of this.

Every bottle is covered by my six-month money-back guarantee. Take it every morning for up to six months. If you don't love how you feel, for any reason, call my team and we'll refund you. No questions, no fine print.

The risk is on me, not on you.

## 8. Choose your package + two paths (6:00–7:10)

> [Bottle in hand. Package cards appear on screen as he names them.]

Right below this video you'll see three choices.

**Two bottles** is a two-month supply. That's a good way to start.

**Three bottles** is a three-month supply, with free shipping, and it saves you ten dollars a bottle.

Or, the one most people choose, **six bottles.** That's six months of NMN at the best price per bottle, with free shipping. NAD support builds with daily use, so this is the one I recommend.

So here's where you are.

You can close this video and keep telling yourself it's just age. Keep dragging at three o'clock.

Or you can do what I do every morning. Two capsules, a glass of water, and give your cells what they need to make the energy you've been missing, with six months to decide if you love it.

Click the button below, choose your package, and I'll see you on the other side.

> [Hold, smile, 2 seconds of silence for the end card.]

## Short cut-downs (from the same shoot, no extra filming)

- **60-second ad cut:** sections 1 → 3 (last two lines) → 5 "number one" → 7 → CTA.
- **Upsell 1 "stock-up" clip (30–45 s):** a separate 4-line read, below.
- **Thank-you "How to take" clip:** a separate read, below.

### Extra read A — Upsell 1 (30–45 seconds)
Thank you. You just made a great decision. One thing before your order ships. NAD support builds with daily use, and the biggest mistake I see is people running out right when it's starting to work. So, just on this page, I'm letting you add more bottles at my best customer price, and I'll add free ones on top. It ships in the same box. It's covered by the same guarantee. Just click yes below.

### Extra read B — Upsell 2, ROAR Lion's Mane (45–60 seconds)
Here's my own routine. NMN in the morning, Lion's Mane in the evening. [CONFIRM: Robert's line from a coaching call.] NMN supports my cells' energy. ROAR is my Lion's Mane, and I take it for my brain. It's a mushroom that's been studied for memory and focus, and it's the formula I'm best known for. Because you're already an NMN customer, you can add ROAR at a customers-only price. Click yes below and it ships free in the same box.

### Extra read C — Upsell 3, Focus (45–60 seconds)
Last thing. I just made a brand-new formula called Focus. NMN helps your cells make energy. Focus feeds the messengers your brain uses to focus and remember: acetylcholine and dopamine. It has Bacopa, L-Tyrosine, Huperzine A and active B vitamins, and no caffeine. You take four capsules in the morning with your NMN. Because it's new and you're a customer, you can add it here at my best price.

### Extra read D — Thank you / how to take (45 seconds)
Welcome. Here's how to get the most out of your NMN. Take two capsules once a day, first thing in the morning, with a glass of water. Take them every day. Don't skip. NAD support builds with daily use. Give it a few weeks, and remember you've got six months to decide. If you have any questions, call my team. I can't wait to hear how you feel.

## Evidence notes (internal)

- Hong Kong prices, 1,000 mg, TMG + B's, Helman, the 6-month guarantee, "NAD… 30 seconds, you are dead", and "about $100 a month or more": all from the current VSL (research/current-vsl-transcript.md). "Half the dose" matches the Hong Kong label he read aloud (500 mg); the current caption "300 mg" is wrong.
- Ring, two grandfathers, "Dad said it's all genetic", Cincinnati visit: Robert's own words (Myers Detox EP551, Ed Mylett ~Jul 2025, Younger Than Yesterday EP002; see research/story-bank.md #2–4). The parents beat is shifted from memory to energy, so NMN is not tied to a memory or dementia outcome, and is marked [CONFIRM]. The story is about his motivation only; NMN is never presented as dementia prevention.
- NAD+ decline with age: widely reported (dossier 06 rates the human data "moderate / incomplete"). Stated as "naturally go down", with no specific percentages. The page line "by 50 you have half" is not used.
- NMN raised blood NAD+ in human studies: Okabe 2022 (PMID 35479740), Igarashi 2022 (PMID 35927255), Yi 2023 (PMID 36482258).
- FDA, Sept 29 2025: letter concluding NMN is not excluded from the dietary-supplement definition (dossier 07). Stated as "can be sold as a dietary supplement", not as an approval or an endorsement.
- "Methyl groups / TMG": plausible mechanism, not proven necessity (dossier 06 §5). The script says "you want…", not "NMN doesn't work without it". TMG is 100 mg, so it is not oversold.
- Label directions say "once a day, first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach". The script follows the label.
- Copy KNB pack copy-4d21da8176947baa, used: S-swipe-vision-supplement-four-leads-carlene-pick (in-medias-res personal-stakes open, open loop), S-nooroo-in-feed-medium-vsl-1 (one analogy for the mechanism, bundle economics stated with real figures), T-copy-review-office-hours-vsl-ecom-hybrid-upsell-863278865 (upsell read A: congratulate → stakes → resell → maintenance framing), T-sales-page-tsl-copy-review-805751241 (P-20: emotion opens, logic closes; the "3 things to look for" block is the logical case).
- Rejected from the KNB return: "restores / stops" payoff verbs, because those are disease/efficacy-adjacent for this product.
